Papua New Guinea

BACKGROUND

We have worked in two different regions in Papua New Guinea.

Training and equipping in manual water well drilling and hygiene education. The water table is shallow – about 30-45′ from the surface.

One of the groups that we worked with was the Arramba tribe. They live in the western province across 6 villages. After flying into the main village in a small plane, landing on a grass stripe, we had to travel by foot to the other villages (5 and 9 miles away, respectively).

The Arramba embraced the drilling method and after drilling 4 wells with us, they were able to continue and have drilled two more on their own so far.
